Finally….FOs on this blog

Other than the baby blanket for my sister I realized I haven’t blogged any other FOs on here, even though I have finished 5 things. Sure they are only face cloths, but they do count as FOs right? I have made 4 in this pattern and 1 in this pattern (click on checkered 1). There is also 1 almost done in this pattern. The only thing I seem to have a problem with is working in the ends, I have managed to only work the ends into 1 of the cloths. I have used US 7 needles and Sugar N’ Cream yarn for all of them. The first 4 are (from right to left) Rosewood, Natural Ombre, Playtime, and Neptune Ombre.

This 1 is in Strawberry Ombre and I really did not like what the colors did because of the pattern used. Plus, I learned that I need to pay closer attention to my tension when switching back and forth from knit to purl. You can also tell that it is pulling funny after being washed because I worked the ends in too tight.

And this one which is almost finished is in Pretty Pastels Ombre.

During our trip to Michigan and back we happened across a Cracker Barrel and decided to stop for dinner. This could have been a mistake as 2 lambs and a duck followed us out. The duck and one of the lambs decided they liked my sister’s house (I think they are staying for the baby). The other lamb and I bonded so she decided to come home with me. I don’t have pictures of the other 2, but I do have a picture of the lamb that followed me home. Now I just need to think of a good name as she has told me she doesn’t have one……

Well, I will leave you with a snow picture - even though I am currently enjoying lovely spring weather.

What a weekend!

So we left for the baby shower Friday afternoon after getting off work - which was around noon CST and drove from Alabama to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. That is a very long drive, especially when it gets dark and you factor in the time change to ET. So, we got there about 11 pm ET and went to bed close to 12:30 am and were back up by 6 am so we could hit the road by 7 (it ended up being 7:30, but you take 4 people and 1 shower and see what you get) to make it to Detroit, Michigan in time to set up for the shower.

The shower lasted several hours and boy did they get a lot of the things they were hoping to get. I think my sister’s favorite gift would be the one from our grandparents (on my mom’s side) which was the travel system she wanted. Then they got the nursery furniture from our parents, the travel crib from me, the swing and just about every other big item they wanted, except for the high chair. The one they want has been recalled to have a minor repair done, but it should be back out before they really need it. Then they got clothes - I think this will be the best dressed baby in Ft. Wayne at least.

I did manage to get some snow pictures, but somehow managed to forget to get photos of the blanket and my sister’s dog. Luckily for me she took them for me. The other FOs will have to wait, along with the snow pictures since I have to remember where I put the camera when I got home from work yesterday. (I seem to be having an issue with misplacing things - yesterday it was the camera and my keys, today it is still the camera and now my sunglasses.)

So without further ado here is a shot of the majority of the baby blanket - displayed of course on the crib.

The Blanket

And, I will leave ya’ll with a shot of Phoenix - my sister’s Mini Australian Shepard who is about 10 months old. He is still working on getting his full adult coat.

Sorry to busy to blog

I have been way too busy to blog the last couple of days.  Between work, school, knitting and getting ready to go out of state for the weekend (my sister’s baby shower) I have had little time to spare for ya’ll.

I have no photos yet, but I did manage to finish the baby blanket for my sister.  Due to how fast I was trying to knit I think that if you took all the rows that I had to keep frogging that I would have at least half of another baby blanket already done.  Guess I should have slowed down (it might have reduced the frogging) and I might have ended up with more time to blog.

The car is packed with the gifts we are taking and everything else except for my mom’s suitcase (just a carry-on) and my knitting bag.  The pumpkin knitting bag is handy in that it is so big that I can fit a weekend worth of clothes and knitting in it with a smidge of room to spare.

I will have photos of the blanket and maybe my sister’s puppy when I get back which will be late Sunday night so I am hoping to get the blog updated by Monday - there are even a couple of small FOs I need to show ya’ll as well.

Wish me luck on this wild adventure - nothing like leaving Alabama to travel to Michigan (Detroit) and Indiana (Ft. Wayne) during the middle of winter.  Oh well, hopefully I will get some nice snow pictures out of it.  Talk to ya’ll (hopefully) on Monday.

The SP10 Survey

Well, I decided to join my first online group participation thingy. I just heard back that I was accepted into SP10 which starts in March so I figured I should post the survey. I will do an actual update post either later tonight or tomorrow after work. Until then ya’ll.

Actual Knitting Content…..Gasp

I actually have knitting content for ya’ll tonight. I am going to make this short and sweet since I need to get to bed. First up is the fact that I might be hit or miss for the rest of the week as I missed work Monday (due to being sick) and will be working a little bit extra to make up for that. I am also working on my school because I just seem to be stuck on this one chapter and really need to get past it to stay on track.

So, on to the actual knitting content. It is light since I haven’t had much time lately, so I have been only working on the baby blanket. I don’t have a full shot of it because it always comes out blurry, but here is a close up. It is a knitted ripple using 2 strands of Baby Soft - one in a pale yellow and the other in a white with pastel flecks in it and uses size 15 Knit Pick Options. Even with the acrylic yarn I love these needles. I leave ya’ll with the photo and I promise I will be back. Those of you that I read your blogs I will still be making a few minutes a day for that.
