Wow, life happens really fast sometimes. We had our store inventory on the 6th and I was at work for 14 hours which pretty much killed that weekend as I was so tired. I normally only work 5 hours a day so that was like working 3 days in one. To top it off I had some major drama the day before.
I was driving home the day before inventory when my car started making a rattling noise and then when I had to slow down it would not speed back up. I managed to get to the side of the road before it dies, but once it did there was no moving it. So my trusty car which I have driven for almost 10 years was dead. Since it was a 1993 Toyota Tercel my dad decided it was not worth fixing it - though he did mutter something about a rod or piston. So there I am wondering how I am supposed to a) get to work and b) do my job since a car is required while my dad goes back to work. Well, my parents were really late coming home that night and when then did get home they showed up with a brand new res 2007 Cobalt for me. Which was a wonderful surprise and I thought I would end up with another used car.
So, then I was going to get on and blog about my new car and my computer wouldn’t boot up. My dad has fixed it finally, but I have only been able to read blogs - no email or posting because my mom does not like my email provider and my bog host. I don’t understand how posting is worse than reading, but it was her computer I was using.
So that is the drama that has been going on in my life since the 4th. I do have to say that it has allowed me to do some knitting and crafting. I have been steadily working on a cabled purse for my sister’s Christmas gift as there is no way I will finish the Sunset Seraphim for her. Then I have been working on finishing the sweater for Natalie, Natalie’s Huggable Hedgehog for Christmas, and mom’s Cozy (also forChristmas.) I have also been working on the Cable & Lace cardigan and Bee Fields shawl for myself. Then I have cast on 2 new projects. The one is wendyknits kitty bed that I am enlarging and making for Smokey. Then my LYS has gotten in the pattern for the Baby Surprise Jacket and I just had to cast on for it.
I will try to get photos up later today of the projects and my new car.
