Wow, times really seems to fly when you don’t really want it to. I am sorry for disappearing for so long. I had a really bad sinus infection that turned into mild bronchitis. I call it mild because I was not knocked flat on my back by it as in years past, but it was still pretty exhausting. Especially since I have changed jobs at work again. I am no longer in the office (which I will miss only due to the set hours) as I am now full-time on the floor as a lead sales associate. This means medical, dental, and other benefits. Since I seem to be having issues with my health again this came at a good time, but also bad since I had to go to 40 hours of physical work right when I was more capable of sitting than standing. This caused me to do several things - sleep, buy lots of cold medications, and ignore the blog. I did not ignore the knitting though.
I had such high hopes for getting the projects that are currently on my needles for Christmas done so they could be given this year, but it’s just not going to happen. I could not work up the mental stamina to rip back my mom’s gift the two rows needed to fix the mistake and with the mistake I made there is no fudging it. On my sister’s gift I don’t really have an excuse other than just realizing that I want it to be really nice and since there is a lot of stockinette (the Sunset Seraphim is for her) I was constantly tinking back to correct issues with stitch size. I have decided that I will work on it only when I can actually finish a row without having to sit it down (which is what was causing the issue) so when you are constantly coughing and sneezing probably does not count - right? I might try to get both done for Mother’s Day 2008.
I have managed to finish both of Natalie’s sweaters except for buttons. On the one I am using cute teddy bear buttons, so my sister asked me to use snaps and have the buttons as a decorative touch. This would be okay if I could manage to line up both sides of the snap correctly. Oh, well mom said she would help me sometime this week. The other one I really have no excuse for as it is the Baby Surprise Jacket and I have very simple buttons that I just have to sew on. I don’t even have to line up the buttons as I knit the eyelets on both sides of the sweater so that I could just sew up the holes while sewing on the buttons on the one side.
I also really need to finish stuffing and sewing up Natalie’s Huggable Hedgehog for Christmas. Then I have the Bee Shawl, my sweater, several simple scarves, MS3, the Spinner’s Lace Shawl, a Feather and Fan Shawl, and countless pairs of socks on the needles. I am also sure that there are probably some other projects that I have forgotten to mention. I am working on photographing all of my yarns and projects (finally) in order to upload them to Raverly. It might be difficult since it is dark by 5 pm now, but I want to have it done by the end of the year.
I really need to go as it is quite late considering I have been so sick. Hopefully it will not be so long before my next post.
